This Family of pigeons was first created in 1988 with a base of just 5 Pigeons from Martha van Geel, Netherlands, Prior to her record breaking sale in 1989. At this time we had just moved to the county of Shropshire that Autumn from Newbury in Berkshire.
Together with the very best of Van der Wegen bloodlines, which of course contains the base of Jan Aarden, We incorporated a Family of pigeons, which remained at the top of the Federation and Combine and National level. Until we were forced to move once again owing to a severe Hawk problem?. For the last two years racing in Shropshire the pigeons never went out of the loft for free flights, The only exercise they had was a 50km training flight taken every day in the car to fly each time against the wind so taken any direction, then locked up for the day. Even then they remained at the top at racing in Shropshire Never beaten on the Longest Federal Race of 850 kms many times only pigeons on day of Liberation. It was then we moved to the county of Somerset, this being in the West part of England. This was in June 1996.
In August that year we reared a few late-bred pigeons, these along with the young birds bred in 1997,are then the base of our family. Having now cultivated them since 1989.
On our move to Somerset they again started to Win from the first year Racing Young Birds of Which they Were Club Champion. After that first half season in Somerset No Club Racing took Place. Only Races From France were flown in All England Nationals and a Very Big Specalist Club with a Radius of appox 150 Miles. We trained only 80kms Privatly then Jumped the Pigeons Over the English Channel to France This also was for Young Birds who never saw another pigeon except for the Loft mates until there first Race Over the Channel which many thought we were Mad to do, But it proved a correct decision as losses were very few.
Since the early days we have introduced many top bred pigeons to help in our quest to improve and develop this outstanding National Winning Family. Once we had made the move to Somerset, after the first years breeding young Birds and Winning the Young Bird Average we concentrated only on the Cross Channel races from France see above, These we raced with the All England NATIONAL FLYING CLUB over 5.000 Members. BRITISH BARCELONA CLUB over 1000 Members, and the CENTRAL SOUTHERN CLASSIC over 600 Members. Every race the pigeons competed from was from France including Young Birds.. It is not at all possible to list every performance but in the National Flying Club. In the 3 years 1999-2000-2002 racing from France these family of pigeons won 91 positions including 1st OPEN PAU GRAND NATIONAL and KINGS CUP for us. In the same years 1999-2000-2002 racing in the British Barcelona Club and Central Southern Classic they won another 125 Postitions in French Cross Channel racing, Distances raced from range in a cross section from 208km to 1131 km.

Now we come to what is going to be a huge change in our lives, In 2003 we did very little racing owing to Commuting backwards and forewards to Belgium to look for a house to Purchase. The pigeons did fly well despite of the lack of time we spent with them Some Positions in the British Barcelona Club and the National Flying club are 66th 72nd 109th 128th 135th 136th 173rd 210th 213th 232nd 234th 248th 280th 306th 348th 385th 386th in National Races. At the end of the 2003 Season we sold the majority of the Present race team keeping only three of the old birds these you can see on the Website.
However we found a house we liked near the beautiful city of Sint-Truiden, Limburg, this with the help of a Young Belgian Fancier who has become a good friend Kurt Haesen, We moved here in the beginning of February 2004.

We built the loft and the pigeons were bought over from England to breed from They are at the moment sitting on the first and I expect only round of eggs for this year by the time this Site is in operation we will have a team of young birds these being bred in August and September, These then will be the start of our future team here in Belgium. So now we have realised a life long ambition to live here in Belgium and Compete against the Belgian, Dutch, and German Fanciers in the International races, possibly a bit late in life as I am now 64 years old and my brother Philip is 60 years old, But the will to win and the enthusiasm is the same as when we started in pigeons 52 years ago. Many fanciers have taken a great interest in our venture from all parts of Europe to America and Canada.
I am Steve of the Partnership and i am writing a monthly Article for the biggest English Pigeon Paper the BHW weeky. This will give the Fanciers of England an insight as to how we got here and by the interest shown by the readers after 5 episodes it is worth my effort .The Building of the Loft in Stages, what regulations we had to abide by and Most interesting will be how we get on in our lives here, and how well or not we do in the racing when we get to that stage. I have said I will hold nothing back. I will tell them the good points and the bad, Otherwise the writing will be in vain, plus of course photos of the loft build etc. We know it will be a hard road to reach our goal here in a another country, but we are certain of the bloodlines we have they are to us the best obtainable. having taken us back to the Top of the English Pigeon Sport in two differnt locations in England and with over 16years of selective breeding and testing from across the English Channel it will not be the fault of the pigeons should we fail, We hope you will enjoy looking at our Website

NEW
Now at the end of racing here in 2006 in which was our first attempt over here in Belgium of Racing in the National and International Races. The Season was a big learning curve for us Not only in the amount of races a fancier can enter weekly but also by the system of Race Marking and the Pooling of Pigeons Plus of course the whole method over here in Belgium which is completly different from England with the difference of the system in which prizes can be won. The season was a hard one with Very Hot Weather and Head Winds every race and of course the pigeons are racing from 600kms to 982 kms. I think on the whole, our small and inexperinced team of young pigeons did us well. Now they have competed in races up to Perpignan 978kms.and St Vincent 982 kms Including the Year old Pigeons which have raced to St Vincent 982 kms and aquitted themselves well. Please take look at our results in the short time we have been here, you can then make up your own minds as to the progess we have come to in our first two seasons in Belgium
